Are you looking for summer vibes, soft pastels, pops of colors, delicate embroidery? When it comes to the Indian fashion industry Payal Singhal is the one to look out for. All her designs are so fresh and clean, the perfect fit for any mehndi, haldi ceremony. The fabrics and patterns are extremely well thought out, a variety of silhouettes are available that flatter multiple body types, not to mention the designs are multigenerational.
There’s something for everyone!
I’ve described Aisha Rao’s designs for us girly girls, I would describe Payal Singhal’s designs for the ‘not like the other girls’. All of it is an interesting taking on modernized ethnic wear, but at the same time it’s not too out there that the older generations will be intimidated by it.

Even when the designs are typically traditional, there’s always a pop of something that the eye zones in on. Feathers, blocky prints, fabric painting, etc. All the colors and combinations of designs are expertly picked and it shows, the styling of the garment is extremely easy. The pieces speak for themselves.
The silhouettes are flattering on every kind of body type, the fabric is such that it just glides onto the body. The garment never wears the individual, yet the individual wearing the piece will not only look like royalty, but also anyone will be able to carry the piece.

One thing I would like to point out about Payal Singhal pieces are the clean lines. Doesn’t matter who is wearing it the pleating, the folds, the creasing will all be perfection. Nothing is out of place. I’m not too sure how they achieved this universally but it’s such plus. Definitely makes consumers gravitate towards the brand.
The lenghas are heavy but not overtly poofy, they have a flowy look to them. The sarees hug the body, and the designs on the pleats are so patterned as such. The tunics or kimono wraps are ethnic yet still so light for the Indian summers. Everything just fits right in.

Payal Singhal has created a modernized ethnic brand not just in terms of designs but also with the silhouettes. A cropped jacket with a lengha, without it looking like it’s trying too hard? That’s definitely a feat. A salwar style bottom with a crop top and a kimono styled wrap around? Like these designs are simple up close, but all the little pieces when they all come together create art.
I know Payal Singhal has managed to make it to everyones ‘gift’ list in the past few years. We all dream of wearing something so summery to our events, and don’t doubt that everyone will be asking you who you’re wearing.
Payal Singhal gives clean fashion a whole new meaning.
