The conclusion to Rush and Blaire comes to a close in Never to far, and boy is it beautiful. Abbi Glines is consistent in her magnetic wiring, she’s created this Rosemary Beach universe that so many of us an invested in. She’s introduced so many characters and plot lines and somehow never loses track of anything.

Blaire was an independent, tightly wound individual. She had gone through enough to know that she would be making her own way with or without anyones help. Despite her concrete outlook of life, she softens with new experiences – she lets Rush into her life in a way she never thought she could or would.

Blaire has finally embodied her confident persona, she’s still Blaire, but now she has an air of assurance around her. She has a beautiful subtle character arc. From being extremely rigid, she definitely has softened, but at the same time she’s still the badass.

“Be glad I don’t have my gun because right now I’m considering the different ways I can get you to shut up. Let me scream and back off.”

Rush is forced to finally reevaluate his priorities. He’s trying to balance everyone, keep the peace between all moving parts to his life, and finally when the realization comes push to shove it might be too late. To be honest there’s nothing I love more than grovelling romance.

Of course his character arc is definitely more in your face – from bad boy era, to kind, caring, sweet lover. Again Rush is also someone who has changed into a softer individual, but at the same time he has kept his core intimidating self in the background. Finding the balance of opposing traits is again beautifully written.

“Please, just call it big. don’t call it pretty. That hurts its feelings.”

Witnessing Blaire and Rush creating their quaint, serene world is a beautiful experience. They have their set of obstacles for sure, but come out together in the end. Not to mention having such a serious relationship while they are still growing up themselves, it’s trying.

Thank you Abbi Glines for giving us these gems. The ends are all tied up and leave the reader feeling satisfied.
