There are times when someone sees a piece of clothing and it just incites excitement! I see a Payal Khandwala outfit and I’m always intrigued, I was so excited to write this post – clothing that just itches my brain – I just knew I wasn’t going to be able to stop writing.

Payal Khandwala is one of the most refreshing additions to the Indian fashion industry. She brought a certain freshness that satisfied the classic Indian vs. grunge rock Indian medium. She’s the happy mix and when I say she makes clothing for everyone, I mean EVERYONE. Designs are multigenerational and silhouettes will look fantastic on anyone irrespective of body types.

Lets get into it.

Payal Khandwala creates these magnamous pieces with such minimalism. She excels at color blocking, patterns and don’t even get me started on that beautiful brocade. she goes big but it always pays off.

There’s color blocking with pastels, scalloped edges, monochromatic looks, stripes and patterns, and of course the classic churidaars. I can’t get enough of how she picks one theme for the garment, sticks with it, and creates the most visually cohesive pieces. She never goes overboard, but at the same time she pushes the envelope just enough.

This is what I mean when I say I want a modernized ethnic outfit. It’s easy to find classic ethnic wear, but this is something extra special.

She creates these long kurtas with almost a mermaid-esque shararas, which then ends up creating such a flattering silhouette irrespective of standing, sitting, lighting, etc. Each piece is vibrant and never overwhelms, it lets the wearer decide how to proceed, and the confidence of the individual will immediately sky rocket as a result.

Styling a Payal Khandwala garment is honestly not that difficult. Depending on the occasion you may or may not need to accessorize that much. The piece will speak for itself and everything else accents it.

Basically you can’t mess this up.

Her color selection is what made Payal Khandwala one of my favorite Indian fashion brands out there. She picks colors that don’t necessarily go together, adjusts the shades and bam! It’s a match made in heaven.

Payal Khandwala is a brand I would definitely be investing in – not one piece but multiple. Well if ever given the chance to do so. Her clothing would never go out of style and always look chic and fresh! Everyone I promise will ask who you’re wearing. Not to mention there’s so much to pick from!
There will be something for everyone for sure.

Along with classic traditional wear, this is what I look for: a modern wearable take on the tried and true. Payal Khandwala, Anamika Khanna are some of my favourites in that respect.

Love that women in the Indian fashion industry are at the top of their game.
