Community was put up on Netflix and all of a sudden it was like the show absolutely imploded. I was also one of the ones that jumped onto the Netflix bandwagon, I was not an OG fan. I totally got the hype right when I started the show. It was so out of the box, with an odd underlying notion for a lesson learned for a character and us at the end of each episode.
We got glimpses into alternate realities, extremely unrealistic/exaggerated hostage situations, infinite number of references to god knows how many movies. It was pure chaos from start to finish, but somehow it all still made sense.
There was heartbreak, there was the weirdest relationships ever, there was comedy, and then there was the genre that Community created itself.

The actors in the show are STUPENDOUS. I didn’t even realize how different their personalities are from the actual characters until I started watching the interviews. They went onto became great at what they do in different fields, but everyone is going to know they were part of Community. Community has a cult following, and it’s left its legacy. There was never a show like it before, and we have yet to see one that comes close to being a show like it now.
Every single character brought something to the show. Not only the main cast, but the supporting characters were amazing. The Dean in particular was my favorite. Now excuse my language: he was craziest motherfucker I’ve seen in a minute.
Even people who haven’t seen the show reference it. That’s when you know you’ve created something that will never be forgotten.

It’s going to be a cliche, but Remedial Chaos Theory was my favorite episode. I had no idea what was happening with the first two timelines, but once I got the hang of it I immediately rewatched the episode like 4 or 5 times. This is the one episode of television I have watched the most, I lost track of how many times I’ve seen. Even if you haven’t seen the show watch this episode, it’s an absolute masterpiece. From start to finish you’ll be like: what the fuck did I just watch.
Community of course has its flaws like every other television show out there, it has seasons that are far from perfect. But it has episodes and quotes that are definitely perfection. There are moments that have become a legacy. You start watching the show and think alright this is a show about people attending community college. It is SO much more than that. I don’t say you have to watch the from start to finish, but please do watch a little bit.
You’ll be missing out on the greatest form of television ever created if you haven’t watched it at all.
