The Arab fashion industry has definitely taken on the world by a storm. Elie Saab was initially known for his bridal designs – Arab style of course. There was grandeur, lots of fabric, volume, sequins, and beading on every inch. He started out with his love for fashion within his hometown and was creating pieces for the women around him. He has now become a distinguished figure in the fashion industry, creating pieces for some of the biggest names in the world.
Elie Saab has branched out since those initial beginnings to creating gowns and dresses for formal occasions, he still has that beautiful section of bridal wear that is enviable.

There’s magnificent attention being paid to detail, and it’s never over done or too much. It’s definitely grand – like most middle eastern designers are – but it’s delicate and feminine at the same time. The colors chosen are done so to compliment either the embroidery or the cut and draping of the fabric.
He makes everything from insane voluminous gowns to something simple, cascading, and monochromatic beauty. Everything is complimenting and enhancing the wearer’s own assets. Haute couture being what it is, but even still the pieces are still perfectly in proportion for different body types.

Elie Saab may be an expert at the typical, but his avant garde fashion is absolutely stunning. He likes to play with gradients and feathers, and it rarely looks tacky. He knows how to balance something that pulls in the eye with the rest of the outfit, it’s never too much.
My dream would be to see one of his runway shows in person, the way the vision comes together is extraordinary. See in life with most of these ensembles we would be wearing dainty jewelry, maybe a pop of color with shoes and a clutch. But on the runway, he goes all out. We have head pieces, we have massive pieces of jewelry, transparent thigh highs. The fact that he is able to make all that work is an ode to his talent.

Just look at these pictures, aren’t these pieces absolutely stunning?! The consistency is commendable, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a terrible Elie Saab garment. They’re all so different, but they all are equally eye catching and beautiful. We have monochromatic dresses both draped expertly, attention to the necklines makes all the difference. Then we have a shoutout to his roots – the arabic opulence – beading, volume, princess vibes. And then we have daily lace with wide sleeves that make the wearer look even more feminine.
I can’t get enough of Elie Saab. If I had the choice of wearing one brand for the rest of my life it would be this. Granted it doesn’t make sense to be wearing Haute Couture on the daily, but I seriously would be living my best life with Elie Saab. There’s something out there for everyone, and the most beautiful aspect is how he stayed true to his roots. It’s evident in his clothing.
Now I just need an excuse to wear an Elie Saab bridal dress. Sigh. First world problems indeed.
