A rather incognito brand raising to the ranks with its take on classic North Indian styles. Heavy beading and intricate embroidary with a color palette that screams traditional. The one thing every Rimple & Harpreet Narula design have in common is the heavy beading. Every inch of the clothing is filled with beading. It’s absolutely stunning.

Does it get repetitive though? I don’t think so. Maybe in the earlier days of the brands creation, but now they play around with designs and fabrics, maybe not so much with silhouettes (not that that’s a bad thing).

They are probably the most famous celebrity brand when it comes to the traditional Punjabi salwar kameez. It’s an older design that has been modernized by Rimple & Harpreet Narula. Each piece is beautiful on its own, but when wearing a salwar kameez, a lot of it depends on the individual wearing it. If it’s not carried properly it will automatically look ill fitted. But when worn correctly it gives the individual a classic traditional appearance.

Like I said they aren’t big on silhouette experiments, but I don’t think thats a bad thing. They do what works and focus on the colors and embroidery. The embroidery is to die for. From afar it doesn’t look as intricate as it is really is, up close I can’t even begin to imagine how long each piece takes.

One of my favourite aspects of this brand is the fact that they can do simplicity as well as heavy couture. An anarkali with minimal borders and sequins vs a heavy lengha, both are equally thought out.

It has definitely gotten more popular with celebrities in recent times and giving them the recognition they deserve. It’s a high end brand for a reason, the piece of clothing speaks for itself.

As far as accessorizing goes, it’s fairly simple to style one of these pieces. It’s a statement piece that requires minimal styling around it, depending on the event of course.

The real recognition started was when they designed costumes for Padmavat. They did an absolutely stunning job on the royal rajastani designs. They started to get known for their gotas, and block printing. At first glance at any of the outfits, I never would have thought that Rimple & Harpreet Narula were the ones to design them. They really started experimenting with silhouettes, embroidery, borders. The one thing that stayed consistent was the simpler designs. They fabric flowed softly like in all their commercial pieces.

Rimple & Harpreet Narula is a brand that has become a huge hit in the Indian Fashion Industry. They don’t have niche per se, but what they do is North Indian fashion extremely well. They brought back a lot of traditional and classic designs, made them their own, and have made them so wearable for anyone. They kept the integrity of tradition alive in an industry that thrives on experimenting. They create multi generational clothing, with intricate embroidery and remaining true to their roots.

Rimple & Harpreet Narula maybe camouflaged around all the screaming Indian brands out there, but they definitely are the ones to look out for. Theyre here to stay for the long haul.
